Ko tōu ake mahi - What you’ll do
As a Senior Advisor, you’ll provide high-quality advice and leadership on complex, high-profile work, influencing decision-making at a strategic level. You’ll collaborate across teams and agencies, lead implementation of key initiatives, and contribute to reducing alcohol-related harm.
- Deliver high-quality advice, analysis, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and programme delivery,
- Lead and coordinate projects and work programmes, ensuring delivery is well planned, collaborative, and outcomes-focused,
- Support performance monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and assurance activities,
- Produce high-quality artefacts, including briefings, reports, presentations, guidance materials, and other resources for a range of audiences,
- Support governance and cross-agency coordination through effective secretariat functions, stakeholder engagement, and follow-up of key actions,
- Contribute to the development, publication, and dissemination of key products, including guidelines, annual reports, and other public-facing resources.
Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you’ll bring
- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience, with a sound understanding of government, public sector, or complex organisational environments,
- Sound understanding of the machinery of government, including public sector processes, Ministerial servicing, and cross-agency ways of working,
- Experience developing high-quality written, visual, and digital artefacts, including reports, presentations, briefings, guidance, and other audience-focused resources,
- Strong project leadership and delivery skills, with experience coordinating complex work programmes and managing competing priorities,
- Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship management skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and work effectively across teams and stakeholders,
- Experience managing publication, quality assurance, governance, or related organisational processes,
- Experience translating evidence, research, or technical information into practical advice, products, and recommendations that support decision-making,
- Demonstrated political acumen and sound judgement, with the ability to navigate sensitive issues, understand broader system implications, and provide trusted advice in complex environments.
