Your future team:
You will lead the Finance and Controlling Department in India as the business transitions into its own OPCO. The role covers India with factories and full supply chain within India and surrounding export markets. You will have 5 direct reports located in Mumbai and be part of a broader Finance/Controlling/Legal organisation of around 11 employees. You will work closely with the Managing Director and the Management Team and collaborate with Group and Business Area Asia stakeholders (including support from Asia Business Center/Shared Services).
What you will be doing:
- Act as a key Business Partner to the Managing Director and Management Team, driving profitable growth while ensuring full compliance with Group policies and local regulations
- Lead planning and budgeting, including a 5-quarter rolling forecast, budgeting, resource demand planning, and timely updates to Group and Business Area Asia
- Own financial reporting and regulatory/statutory reporting, ensuring high quality and on-time delivery to authorities and internal stakeholders
- Ensure strong IFRS compliance and manage the reconciliation between local statutory requirements and Group standards
- Lead controlling and business support, including customer/product profitability analysis, investment cost tracking, and early warnings on volume and profitability risks
- Manage cash flow, working capital and treasury, including FX exposure/hedging, funding needs, capital structure and cash pooling (in cooperation with the relationship bank)
- Oversee tax and transfer pricing compliance (direct and indirect taxes incl. VAT/GST), supported by external advisors and auditors
- Drive strong internal controls and governance, coordinate internal audits and support Group Business Assurance activities
- Coordinate local ERP / IT / Master Data activities in cooperation with Group DIGI, ensuring master data quality and recovery plans
- Support (as part of the leadership scope) relevant HR and legal topics within the Finance/Controlling/Legal organisation, including succession planning, performance reviews, and ensuring compliance with company rules and Code of Conduct
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, including evaluation of growth opportunities, business expansion plans, and M&A analysis and integration (where applicable)
- Participate in Supervisory Board meetings and monthly interactions with Business Area Asia stakeholders
- Travel up to ~60 days per year
What you bring:
- A relevant university degree in Finance/Economics/Accounting (qualified accountant background preferred)
- 10+ years post-qualification experience, with a significant part at senior leadership/director level in finance (or equivalent scope and accountability)
- Strong knowledge of financial management, controlling, planning/forecasting, cash management, tax and statutory reporting, ideally in a manufacturing and supply chain environment
- Proven ability to act as a strong business partner and provide commercial counsel on growth, margin maximisation, opportunity analysis and robust planning
- Experience operating in a matrix organisation and managing stakeholders across different levels and cultures
- Strong leadership and integrity: able to set clear standards, challenge when needed, and build high-performing teams
- ERP literacy (preferably SAP) and strong digital/IT understanding (master data, reporting tools)
- Exposure to India or other Asian countries is a plus
