ConnectSydney are on the hint for an enthusiastic Structures Inspector to join our Rockdale team!

About the Role

ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW), is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure.

The ConnectSydney team are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Structures Inspector to join our team. They will be responsible for a high degree of data collection from structures inspections, preparation of condition rating reports, and timely data input into the Asset Management System.

Please note that this 12-month fixed-term role will be mainly on a nightshift basis (8pm-4am) with the ability to work from the Rockdale office and home (hybrid). The successful candidate will be provided a company vehicle to assist with site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for inspecting, assessing and reporting on the status and condition of ConnectSydneys structures.
  • Promote a strong commitment to a quality culture, implementing standards of excellence and a continuous improvement business focus.
  • Assist Supervisors in planning all works and maintenance in accordance with the standards and risk management processes
  • Compliance with all contract requirements in regard to scheduled inspections.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of inspection and maintenance plans.
  • Carry out structural inspections of support structures, including gantries and cantilevers, and streetlights.
  • Assist in business development activities as required.
  • Ensure all required management systems are updated accurately and in a timely manner
  • Raise work orders within ConnectSydney asset management system.
  • Required to travel within the region and work outside normal working hours including weekends.

About You:

  • Certificate IV in Civil Construction, or relevant experience in a related field
  • The ability to interpret and quantify asset data from construction drawings and plans
  • Written communication skills including, sound spreadsheet and word processing abilities allowing for the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals
  • Experience in the inspection and condition assessment of civil assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member without supervision and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining databases, geographical information systems, asset management system
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Asset Management principles, and systems.
  • Current Drivers licence
  • Elevated Working Platform (EWP) Ticket – Highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in TfNSW Level 2 Structural inspections and assessment process – Highly desirable.
