Description
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Manager of Marketing Technology & Automation to lead the technology, data, automation, and AI capabilities that power our customer lifecycle marketing strategy, in close partnership and collaboration with our Lifecycle Marketing team.
This role will own Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), manage our Customer Data Platform (CDP), and lead the roadmap for marketing automation, personalization, and AI. Working closely with the Lifecycle Marketing team, you will translate their strategies, customer insights, and campaign needs into scalable technology solutions and seamless customer experiences. You will also serve as a key connector across Marketing, Data, Technology and Analytics - ensuring our teams can effectively turn customer data and emerging technologies into measurable business impact.
The ideal candidate combines strong marketing technology expertise with strategic thinking, operational discipline, and a highly collaborative approach. They are passionate about partnering with marketers to solve problems, simplify execution, and use automation, data, and AI to continuously improve customer engagement and marketing effectiveness.
Detailed Responsibilities
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Ownership
- Own the administration, governance, and ongoing optimization of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).
- Oversee the design and execution of customer journeys, triggered communications, segmentation, personalization, and lifecycle campaigns.
- Establish best practices for SFMC architecture, data extensions, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder, and related capabilities.
- Develop processes and governance for campaign QA, deployment, data management, and platform performance.
- Identify opportunities to increase the efficiency and sophistication of lifecycle marketing campaigns through automation.
CDP Management
- Own the ongoing management of Simon AI (CDP).
- Partner with Data, Technology and Analytics teams to ensure high-quality customer data, identity resolution, audience creation, and activation.
- Define and maintain data governance standards across lifecycle marketing.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer journeys through better data integration and accessibility.
- Ensure CDP capabilities support personalization, experimentation, measurement, and lifecycle strategy.
Automation & AI Roadmap
- Own the marketing automation and AI roadmap, balancing near-term business needs with longer-term innovation.
- Evaluate emerging AI and automation capabilities and determine where they can create meaningful business or customer value.
- Identify opportunities to use AI for personalization, audience development, content optimization, campaign orchestration, predictive insights, and marketing operations.
- Establish a structured roadmap for testing, scaling, and governing AI-enabled marketing capabilities.
- Ensure AI and automation initiatives are implemented responsibly, with appropriate attention to data privacy, security, governance, and brand standards.
Campaign Operations and Management
- Develop and maintain scalable campaign processes, standards, and governance to improve speed, quality, consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Responsible for the ongoing management of all transactional communications.
- Partner with Lifecycle Marketing to support campaign execution as needed, particularly for campaigns requiring new setups, configurations, or operational workflows, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with campaign objectives.
- Partner with stakeholders to troubleshoot execution issues, resolve dependencies, and ensure campaigns meet business objectives and customer experience standards.
- Identify opportunities to streamline campaign processes through automation, technology, and improved ways of working.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in marketing automation, executing lifecycle marketing campaigns.
- Strong experience building event-driven customer journeys using behavioral triggers, customer data, audience segmentation, and multi-channel automations.
- ESP experience, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or major enterprise ESP.
- Basic SQL knowledge for validating customer data.
- Strong understanding of email marketing fundamentals and lifecycle marketing best practices.
- 2 years of previous management experience
