Overview
Job Summary
Under direction and supervision of a surgical technician, surgical technician extern provides assistance to surgeon by passing instruments, assuring the functioning of instruments, and keeping instruments free of debris during surgical procedures. Shares responsibility for patient safety in accordance with the policy and procedure for sponge, needle, and instrument counts.

Education
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology Program is Required
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent in General Studies is Required
Experience
- Additional experience - Enrollment in an accredited Surgical Technology Program
Certifications and Licensures
- License/Certification is Required upon graduation
- Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation is Required
