Senior Procurement Specialist (Indirect)

 

 

Job Purpose:

• Represent the Indirect Purchasing (IPUR) function and lead strategic sourcing and category management initiatives to maximize business value, improve supplier performance, and support procurement transformation objectives;

• Identify, develop, and manage strategic supplier relationships for indirect materials and services while delivering measurable savings, risk mitigation, and sustainable procurement outcomes;

• Provide procurement expertise, lead sourcing projects, and collaborate with regional procurement teams to align category strategies, governance standards, and supplier management practices across South East Asia;

Major Accountabilities:

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned indirect categories.

• Drive supplier consolidation and spend optimization.

• Lead complex sourcing projects and commercial negotiations.

• Evaluate total cost of ownership and supplier risk.

• Establish supplier KPIs and conduct performance reviews.

• Drive supplier development initiatives.

• Partner with business stakeholders to align procurement strategies.

• Support business planning and demand management.

• Drive process improvements and share procurement best practices.

• Coach junior procurement team members

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field; a professional procurement certification is preferred;

• Business-level proficiency in written and spoken English is essential; proficiency in other Asian language would be an advantage;

• 5 to 8 years of experience in procurement with proven experience in strategic sourcing and category management;

• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, manage supplier relationships, strategic sourcing and tender management;

• Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and cost optimization capabilities, including total cost of ownership (TCO) methodologies; and procurement risk assessment;

• Preferred: Professional certification (CIPS / CPSM / equivalent);
