Our healthcare consulting team focuses on our clients’ critical business needs. Our team works with acute providers including large hospital health systems as well as small community hospitals. At Plante Moran, we have the privilege of serving clients and providing consultative services as they face challenges and seek new opportunities.

Your role

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

·         Leverage an accounting background to support labor productivity benchmarking analyses, including labor expense review, variance analysis, and interpretation of staffing productivity metrics

·         Assist in delivering strategic solutions for healthcare clients with a focus on operational and clinical efficiency

·         Develop and maintain Excel and Power BI based benchmarking models and tools (e.g., staffing grids, productivity dashboards, variance templates) to support repeatable client deliverables

·         Analyze labor expense and staffing data (payroll, hours, volumes, and budget) to identify drivers of productivity performance and improvement opportunities

·         Validate and reconcile client-provided data for benchmarking (e.g., mapping accounts, normalizing pay codes, ensuring consistent definitions) to ensure accurate and comparable results

·         Work collaboratively with project teams to execute engagement objectives, develop work plans, coordinate across workstreams, and perform detailed analyses

·         Support the development of recommendations by synthesizing quantitative and qualitative findings

·         Build and maintain strong client relationships while participating in networking and business development activities

·         Collaborate with other services such as healthcare finance, reimbursement and revenue cycle team members to support insights, reporting, and decision-making

The qualifications.

·         Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, healthcare, or related field

·         1-2 years of experience in a health system or hospital setting preferred

·         Prior consulting experience a plus

·         Ability to travel frequently throughout the region, including approximately 50% overnight travel

·         Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas) with strong interest and aptitude in data analysis and data modeling

·         Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-demand client environment

This is an exempt position that may require some local, national travel.

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Please review the position description for the applicable geographic location. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer standardized, market-based starting salaries among individuals within the same hiring group. This approach ensures fairness and reflects current industry benchmarks for entry-level talent.

The compensation range for this role in CO, IL, OH, and MA is: $80,000.00 - $87,000.00
