SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

We are looking for a Brand Manager to join our global marketing team at Jotun Performance Coatings to support our key focus area Structural fire protection for the energy sector. In this role, you would be responsible for developing and strengthening the assigned range of intumescent coatings by managing existing products while identifying and capitalising on new opportunities that create value for both customers and Jotun.

As Global Brand Manager you will take a leading role in translating customer and market needs into a clear portfolio direction for safety-critical fire protection products used across onshore and offshore energy assets. You will play a central role in driving profitable growth and ensuring our solutions continue to meet evolving customer- and market needs. You will also lead selected innovation projects as Project Manager, working closely with colleagues across different functions and geographical markets, and bring new products and solutions successfully to the global market.

Working closely with Sales, Regional Marketing, R&D, Technical Service and other key stakeholders, you will become part of an international and highly competent network focused on delivering sustainable growth, innovation and customer value.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Develop and manage assigned product portfolio throughout its lifecycle, ensuring competitiveness, customer relevance, expected return on investment and profitability to strengthen Jotun's market position. 

  • Identify, evaluate, and capitalise on market opportunities based on customer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis. 

  • Develop and maintain intumescent coatings, roadmaps and long-term innovation plans aligned with strategic objectives. 

  • Lead selected innovation projects as Project Manager with support from Global Category Manager as well as Category Managers in other geographical regions   

  • Develop robust business cases and coordinate deliverables across cross-functional stakeholder groups. 

  • Develop supporting sales and marketing tools that enable successful product positioning and commercialization. 

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and alignment across regions to strengthen global execution and leverage best practice. 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER

Qualifications 

To succeed in this role, we believe you have: 

  • A relevant university degree within business, marketing, engineering, technology or related field.  

  • At least five years of experience in product management, product development, technical sales, technical support or related commercial/technical roles within the energy sector, preferably with exposure to hydrocarbon fire protection. 

  • Understanding of relevant fire protection standards, certification routes and specification requirements is strongly preferred. 

  • Strong commercial understanding and a demonstrated ability to translate customer and market insights into business value. 

  • Experience working in cross-functional and international environments. 

  • Project management experience, preferably involving multiple stakeholders and business functions. 

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Global marketing roles within Jotun operate in English and involve extensive international collaboration. 

  • Positive, flexible and practical “can-do” approach. 

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally approximately 50–60 days per year.

Location: 

The location can be discussed with the successful candidate. The preferred locations are Jotun’s international headquarters in Sandefjord, Norway, the R&D Centre in Flixborough United Kingdom or one of your regional centers in Dubai or Asia.
