Full-Time Cradle-to-Grave Machinist

Position Overview



We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Cradle-to-Grave Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. This position requires a versatile professional who can independently manage complete machining projects from initial concept through final production. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of CNC machining operations, programming expertise, and proficiency in MasterCAM software, enabling them to take full ownership of parts from blueprint to finished product.



As a Cradle-to-Grave Machinist, you will be responsible for the entire manufacturing process, including interpreting technical drawings, creating CNC programs, setting up machines, producing parts, and performing quality inspections. This role demands exceptional technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.



Key Responsibilities



Programming and Setup



  • Review and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements and sequences
  • Develop comprehensive CNC programs using MasterCAM software for multi-axis milling and turning operations
  • Create, edit, and optimize G-code programs to maximize efficiency and minimize cycle times while maintaining quality standards
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices for each specific job
  • Calculate speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters based on material properties and tooling specifications
  • Perform program simulation and verification to identify potential collisions or errors before production


Machine Operation and Production



  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other precision machining equipment
  • Load programs into CNC machines and perform necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance
  • Establish work offsets, tool offsets, and coordinate systems accurately
  • Monitor machining operations continuously to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards
  • Make real-time adjustments to programs, speeds, feeds, and tool paths as needed during production
