Job Description
As a Security Officer Full Time Controlled Entry in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a critical utilities location, you will help maintain a secure environment by managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring access activity, and communicating professionally with employees, visitors, and contractors. - Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor records, and control entry and exit in accordance with site requirements.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned utility facilities, buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas while reporting observed security-related concerns.
- Assist with the protection of critical infrastructure by following established protocols for restricted areas, deliveries, keys, and/or access credentials.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and a rustic guard shack.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
