Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Controlled Entry in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a critical utilities location, you will help maintain a secure environment by managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring access activity, and communicating professionally with employees, visitors, and contractors. Your visible presence and attention to detail help deter incidents while supporting smooth site operations. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor records, and control entry and exit in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned utility facilities, buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas while reporting observed security-related concerns.
• Assist with the protection of critical infrastructure by following established protocols for restricted areas, deliveries, keys, and/or access credentials.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and a rustic guard shack.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
