Job Description:
The Systems Engineer is responsible for the applications infrastructure across all networks. Technical support to make application security compliant. Responsible for tech precepts implementation and customer support.
The work you'll do:
- System Design & Implementation: Design, install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
- Security & Redundancy: Implement and maintain robust security measures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop custom scripts to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network components.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, management, and other departments to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system architecture, procedures, and support.
- Technology Evaluation: Research and assess emerging technologies for potential upgrades or new implementations.
Here's what you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).
- 2+ years of experience in system engineering, testing, or DevOps roles.
- Proven experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.
- Strong working knowledge of Jenkins, Linux/Unix, version control (Git), and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Familiarity with Agile development practices.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with test frameworks.
- Experience with Jenkins.
- Experience with Git.
- Strategic thinking and big-picture perspective.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- A passion for IT and continuous learning.
Security clearance:
- Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance is required.
