Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Security Engineer (SSE) - P4 to join the SSE Sensors, Space, & Air department. The team member will apply their technical knowledge and expertise in the fields of Anti-Tamper and embedded Cybersecurity to ensure secure products are delivered to the end-user. The SSE will be responsible for individual and team leadership contributions to execute program deliverables and milestones, including communications and briefings with internal stakeholders, leadership, and external customers. The candidate will follow the Raytheon Systems Engineering processes to develop, design, integrate, test, and evaluate security solutions within embedded systems. Must be able to work independently and be a motivated self-starter. The individual must possess and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance and work in classified areas, with up to 25% travel required. This is an onsite position at Raytheon in McKinney, Texas.
What You Will Do
Perform Critical Program Information (CPI) analysis
Perform SSE requirements generation, derivation, decomposition, and analysis
Perform and document SSE trade-studies and provide path forward recommendations
Generate systems engineering modeling and artifacts, including functional block, sequence, and activity diagrams
Develop the program Anti-Tamper Plan
Develop and execute Verification and Validation (V&V) Plans and Procedures
Present in internal and external customer reviews and program milestones
Report tasking status and communications with program and functional leadership
Travel up to 25% as necessary

Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience with design/development/implementation in at least one of the following areas: Anti-Tamper (HW, SW, Systems), Cybersecurity, Software Assurance
A minimum of 6 years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience related to Systems/Software Engineering architecture, requirements, determination, development, and implementation
Experience designing, implementing, testing, and fielding real-time Embedded security-oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs
Qualifications We Prefer
Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Computer Science, Engineering Science, Business Administration and/or Robotics
Experience in generating Anti-Tamper, Cyber Security and/or program protection requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and/or policies
Ability to interact with customers to define requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness
Software, Firmware, & Microelectronics Engineering, Cryptography and FPGA design
Experience in System Security Engineering, computer technology reverse engineering, AT, cybersecurity or embedded security
Experience in designing, implementing, testing and fielding real-time embedded security-oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs with secure systems technologies, methodologies, policies and guidelines
Knowledge of Program Protection Plan (PPP) required by DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39, including in-depth understanding of balancing risk across the System Security Engineering discipline and domain areas
Experience in generating systems requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans and/or policies
Knowledge and understanding of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle Process
Experience in design, development and fielding of SSE systems
Software, Firmware, & Microelectronics Engineering, Cryptography and FPGA design
Experience leading engineering development teams and personnel
Attack threat modeling / Critical Program Information Assessments
Experience in the implementation and business growth of SSE implementation throughout the entire life cycle
Experience in solutions meeting robust SSE systems security requirements
Cyber Certifications in accordance with DoDD 8570/DoDD 8140 such as CISSP, GSLC, CEH
Broad understanding of technology and working knowledge of DODI-S-5230.28
Candidate must exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness
Background in both Systems Engineering and Software Engineering practices
Experience in System Integrity, NSA Security design, or related field
Experience with certification and accreditation of cryptographic, anti-tamper, and other security-related engineering products / systems
Experience with multi-level security solutions (MLS)
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, stakeholders and customers in a team environment
Experience contributing in a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to technical problems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
