Description
Overview
A warm, first-time family in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is seeking an experienced Overnight Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), who is either an LPN, an RN, or a highly experienced preemie newborn specialist to provide overnight support for their premature twin daughters. The role would begin on August 19th and continue through September 30th. The family is looking for someone with extensive experience caring for premature infants, exceptional communication skills, and a collaborative, parent-focused approach.
The twins were born prematurely at 33 weeks, 2 days and are currently thriving, with no ongoing medical conditions beyond those associated with prematurity. One daughter is already home from the NICU, while the second is expected home in the coming weeks. The family's primary goal is to ensure both babies continue gaining weight appropriately while following the guidance of their NICU physicians.
The ideal candidate will understand the unique feeding and developmental needs of premature infants and will carefully monitor overnight feedings, volumes consumed, behaviors, and overall well-being. The family is looking for someone who values accuracy, transparency, and teamwork. They would like an experienced professional who will follow the pediatricians' and parents' instructions rather than implementing their own philosophies or routines. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys partnering closely with new parents and providing knowledgeable, reassuring overnight support during an important transition home from the NICU.
