Pay= $43.93/hr
Basic Function: Provide timely predictive monitoring, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant mechanical and rotating equipment to ensure maximum equipment availability to the plant.
Requirements: Extensive experience as rotating equipment technician in chemical manufacturing environment. NCCER Millwright certification is preferred but demonstrated progress towards certification can be considered.
Essential Functions:
- Troubleshooting and repair of rotating equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks per work schedule.
- Perform diagnostic testing, interpret the data, and initiate proactive maintenance.
- Participate in or lead plant-sponsored improvement initiatives.
- Understand and follow all applicable plant safety, environmental and quality
- procedures.
- Develop and/or follow procedures for routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.
- Plan, procure parts, and prepare schedule for Millwrights.
- Work with, and/or direct work of, outside contractors and repair facilities, ensuring compliance with plant contractor procedure.
- Navigate Maximo computerized maintenance system to enter and retrieve work orders and parts information.
Decision-Making: Will be responsible for determining appropriate repair or replacement strategies for plant equipment. Expenditures for outside resources (material or labor) will require appropriate approval through plant purchasing procedures.
Supervision Received: Position will receive direct supervision from the Supervisor - Maintenance. However, position should be able to work independently with little directive, and show initiative in researching repair methods, finding necessary parts, and improving technical skill level.
Accuracy, Accountability and Control: Will be required to document work, including measurements of critical tolerances. Accountable for ensuring work is planned and scheduled per defined maintenance workflow priority definitions. Also accountable for other maintenance quality control metrics.
Specialized Skill or Technical Knowledge: Experience in repair techniques of common plant equipment (pumps, compressors, agitators, turbines, etc.) Must be knowledgeable in the correct use of instruments and tools commonly used by Millwrights.
Working Conditions: Will be working in an outside, chemical manufacturing environment. Atmospheric conditions can vary from cold to extreme heat. May also require occasional work in inclement weather. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work at elevated heights and inside confined spaces. Must be able to wear PPE including breathing air facemask and respirator. Must be able to work overtime and respond to callouts.
