Summary:
The Contractor Field Services Team Lead provides lasting value for our customers by facilitating the needs of the customer’s job site. This includes, but is not limited to ordering material, receiving material at jobsite, providing material coordination and agile construction practices to the jobsite. This individual is an important liaison between Van Meter sales, operations, and customers in the field. This person must have the flexibility to travel within the United States to be on assignment for months at a time. When not on assignment, this individual will work at the Central Distribution Center as a team member. This person exemplifies all safe work practices. This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P’s and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives
- Complete returns for parts from the jobsite
- Accurately maintain jobsite inventory and equipment
- Sometimes it may be necessary to complete parts and tools requests through ordering, receiving, and shipping.
- Conduct product, inspection, and storage at the jobsite (if applicable to jobsite rules)
- Work closely with Inside Sales, Purchasing and Operations
- Provide customer service and support as one of the main contacts between Van Meter and customer.
- Occasionally it may be necessary to be an on-site resource for our customers (sit in their job trailer)
- Clean, stock and remove excess material from work areas (clamshells/Conex’s, etc.
- Deliver parts to needed areas of jobsite.
- Receive and distribute deliveries as needed and as allowed on the job site.
- Keep Connex and laydown yard clean and orderly.
- General jobsite housekeeping
- Responsibly manage expenses associated with travel and working in the field.
- Process and prepare orders in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Label, verify and ships all outgoing commodity orders
- Maintain inventory integrity through uses of cycle count, and R/D
- Clean, maintain and 5S warehouse, office, and break trailers.
- General help with crew members when needed.
- Be a resource for other LCC’s to help promote their growth and development.
- Help with quoting, order entry, order processing and keeping the customer updated on backordered material.

Job Requirements/Specifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to travel within the United States to be on assignment for months at a time
- Previous customer service experience required
- Previous distribution center experience preferred
- Ability to lift 70 lbs. on a consistent basis
- Ability to operate lift truck equipment
- Ability to work an extended shift to complete work tasks as needed
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Demonstrated computer skills
- Knowledge of Eclipse preferred
- Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus
- Forklift operating experience required
- Deployment to jobsites throughout the United States for extended periods of time
- Minimum 3 year commitment required
