Fresh Foods Produce Coordinator 

 

Stauffers of Kissel Hill has a career opportunity for the ideal candidate to join our team. 

 

This is a full-time position requiring 50 hours per week.

 

This position will be responsible for determining what we sell, where we source it, negotiating cost, setting retail pricing and coaching retail location teams to ensure programs are delivered and merchandised as intended.

Responsibilities

  • Product Authorization/Evaluation  ( Everyday, New, & Seasonal )
    • Selects vendors & products at lowest cost.
    • Ensures all products meet the Stauffer's standards. 
    • Establish shelf life, packaging, pack size, scales, label requirements, and label placement.
    • Creates and maintains department order guides, recipes, and SOP’s.
    • Selects secondary suppliers or substitute items as needed. 
    • Frequently and regularly uses reports to analyze data to support. program/product changes and drive measurable results (Movement, Reduced for Quicksale, and Destroy). 
  • Supplier/Vendor Accountability
    • Ensures timely deliveries, accurate cost, and meets code/date standards.
    • Resolves all vendor or product issues.

 

  • Accounting
    • Ensures product is billed to correct departments.
    • Signing off on invoices and transfers for Accounts Payable.
    • Ensures all vendor return/credits are processed. 
    • Provides accounting and store teams all that is needed for semi annual inventory.
  • Merchandising/Marketing
    • Sets all retail pricing.
    • Sets all planograms.
    • Works with the store team on Seasonal, Holiday and ad item placements.
    • Coordinates pricing accuracy and signage with Pricing & Data Team.
    • Works with Marketing to socially promote key items and vendors. 
  • Store Visits
    • Weekly scheduled time in each store to train, evaluate, and assist each store to ensure all product programs and safety is compliant and being delivered as intended.
    • Send an email after your weekly visit with a recap of your observations, opportunities, and any concerns to appropriate group(s).
    • Monthly visits to local competition to ensure we are competitive with selection and pricing.

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel to visit vendors and attend trade shows. Trips may include overnight and/or multiple days.
  • A valid PA driver's license
  • 5 year management experience in a retail foods environment or 2 years buying experience in the food industry.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
