Regional Vice President, Northeast
Job Summary
Seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Vice President to lead and manage operations for the Northeast region. This executive role oversees key aspects of underwriting, operations, and commercial business lines (Casualty and Property). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting management and operational leadership, with a proven track record in managing commercial lines ranging from $100k-$500k in premium. This position offers the opportunity to shape the strategic vision of the organization while fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction, planning, and operations of the Northeast region, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Oversee underwriting practices, ensuring profitable and sustainable growth for Commercial Lines: Property & Casualty with a focus on accounts ranging from $100k–$500k in premium.
- Collaborate with underwriting managers to review, assess, and enhance underwriting guidelines, policies, and risk selection standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency, streamline processes, and improve the overall customer experience.
- Analyze data trends and develop actionable insights to drive business growth and operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies while promoting an environment of accountability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, brokers, and external partners.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance team of managers and staff to achieve regional and organizational objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader, representing the Northeast Region and providing expert guidance on underwriting and operational matters.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in underwriting management, with demonstrated expertise in Commercial Lines: Casualty & Property.
- Proven track record managing commercial accounts between $100k–$500k in premium.
- At least 5 years of experience in operational leadership, with a focus on driving efficiency and fostering growth.
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced analytical thinking to solve complex problems, develop strategies, and deliver impactful results.
- Strong knowledge of underwriting guidelines, trends, processes, and legal/regulatory considerations for Commercial Property and Casualty lines.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, results-driven environment while maintaining a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Proficiency in industry tools, technology, and platforms related to underwriting and commercial operations.
