Job Description:

Our purpose is to deliver energy to the world, today and tomorrow. For over 100 years, bp has focused on discovering, developing, and producing oil and gas in the nations where we operate. We are one of the few companies globally that can provide governments and customers with an integrated energy offering. Delivering our strategy sustainably is fundamental to achieving our ambition to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner.

It's an exciting time to join bp. Meeting the energy challenge requires many different approaches and solutions. And as part of Finance Business & Technology (FBT), you’ll be fully connected into the world of bp. You’ll play an increasingly important part within a network of like-minded colleagues partnering on strategic projects that stretch across the globe. And it starts with you. There’s a world of opportunities to build new skills, challenge yourself and grow a long-term career at bp. And no matter where you work, your role will have meaning, purpose and impact. So if you want to be part of a caring, supportive environment where you can realize your full potential, we’re with you.

Join our team and advance your career as Head – FBT Trading

About the role

The Head of FBT Trading is accountable to manage, control and improve all aspects of service delivery in respect of processes performed by FBT on behalf of T&S. The purpose of this role is primarily to:

In this role you will

  • Act as primary T&S/FBT relationship manager and integrator, understanding stakeholders’ business needs and balancing them with the FBT delivery model.

  • Deliver safe, compliant, silent running. This includes ensuring the safety of our staff, the effective and silent running of all Trading operations, and compliance with applicable bp/T&S-specific financial practices and the legal and regulatory laws of all countries served.

  • Lead effective talent management, including staff development, effective learning and development programs, and robust succession plans.

  • Deliver continuous improvement programs to standardize and optimise end-to-end processes, creating value for bp by driving efficiency gains and embedding continuous improvement and customer service in our FBT culture.

  • Support the successful implementation of agreed T&S transitions to FBT Trading, maintaining effective service delivery against metrics and SLAs while ensuring no control breakdowns.

  • Understand and support stakeholders’ business needs, including participation in transformation projects, and ensure the role and accountability of FBT in delivery is defined and understood.

  • Be an active member of the FBT Procurement and FBT LT, taking part in day-to-day challenges, understanding and aligning to the LT vision and mission, and actively participating in rolling out the action plan.

  • Display and instil HSSE and leadership behaviours across the team, leading by example in line with bp’s Values and Behaviours and its Code of Conduct.
