As a Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Identity and Access Management, you'll work on the foundational identity platform responsible for secure access across the company's entire product ecosystem.
This is an opportunity to join a high-trust engineering team and own critical authentication, authorization, permissions, and security infrastructure used across the platform.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and improve authentication and authorization systems powering the company's product ecosystem
- Own critical identity infrastructure across login, sessions, token management, and account security
- Build and maintain role-based access control and permission systems
- Develop scalable authorization services and access enforcement systems
- Build secure service-to-service authentication infrastructure
- Design and maintain APIs and infrastructure consumed by product and engineering teams
- Improve reliability and observability across authentication and authorization services
- Build alerting, dashboards, monitoring, and operational runbooks for critical identity systems
- Identify security risks and improve authentication and authorization controls
- Design identity systems with security, reliability, and scalability as core requirements
- Build distributed systems supporting high-volume authentication and authorization workloads
- Collaborate with product, platform, infrastructure, and security engineers
- Partner with product and design teams to build secure and intuitive access experiences
- Establish engineering standards and best practices around identity and access management
- Help product teams implement secure access patterns and authorization standards
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues across identity infrastructure
- Use AI tools to accelerate software development, code review, exploration, and automation
- Contribute to architecture and technical strategy for the identity platform
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the organization
- Participate in interviewing and hiring as the team grows

Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend, platform, infrastructure, or security engineering
- Hands-on experience building authentication, authorization, identity, or permissions systems
- Experience building single sign-on, access management, or authorization services at scale
- Experience designing and operating production identity infrastructure
- Experience working with distributed systems
- Experience building backend services and APIs
- Experience working in reputable, talent-dense technology organizations
- Demonstrated career progression through increasing scope, responsibility, or promotions
