[What the role is]
This role is with the Development Control (DC) Section of the Protection of Water and Sewer (POWS) Application Unit of the Water Reclamation (Network) Department.[What you will be working on]
Managing the regulatory submission regime for the protection of the public sewerage system
Reviewing POWS applications of proposed activities in the vicinity of the public sewerage system, including Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS), to ensure that the public sewerage system is protected against damage. The review will cover the methodology of proposed activities, the construction impact assessment report, the instrumentation and monitoring plan of the activities, etc.
Engaging professional consultancy services to acquire specialist technical support to assist with the review of critical POWS applications when required, e.g. for major activities which could have a critical impact on the public sewerage system. This will involve the calling of tenders/quotations and processing payment for the professional services acquired.
Regular review of the regulatory submission framework, including the technical and regulatory requirements, and the applications submission and processing workflow.
Making enhancements to the IT systems supporting the submission process when changes are needed. This will involve working with other departments who are in charge of manging the IT systems.
Attending to public feedback or enquiries related to the sewer protection and POWS applications requirements
Engaging the industry (eg. Architects, Professional Engineers, Contractors, Professional Bodies) to inform and seek feedback on PUB’s requirements
[What we are looking for]
- A recognized Civil Engineering degree [specialisation in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred]
- Experience in underground structure design will be an advantage
- Possess systemic thinking and good analytical skill
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good writing skills
