Spectra Gutter Systems is seeking a Field Manager – Commercial Operations to join our team in Atlanta. The Field Manager-Commercial Operations is responsible for supporting Contractor Services operations across field, warehouse, and branch environments. This position operates gutter machines at customer jobsites, coordinates material delivery and staging, supports Contractor Services warehouse operations, maintains accurate branch inventory, and provides sales support as needed.
This role is critical to ensuring equipment, vehicles, trailers, and materials are properly prepared and maintained for each job. The Field Manager ensures all warehouse, transportation, and jobsite activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Spectra’s safety standards, OSHA requirements, and applicable Department of Transportation regulations while contributing to an exceptional customer experience. This position requires regular local travel and occasional overnight travel of less than 10%.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate jobsite logistics, including equipment preparation and material staging.
- Confirm equipment, materials, and customer orders are complete and ready before scheduled appointments.
- Safely operate gutter machines and related equipment at customer jobsites.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical and equipment issues in the field as needed.
- Complete timely and accurate delivery of materials to customer jobsites.
- Verify order accuracy before departure and upon delivery.
- Follow established customer communication guidelines for Chop & Drop jobs.
- Ensure materials are properly handled, secured, transported, and stored at the jobsite.
- Ensure gutter machines, vehicles, trailers, tools, and related equipment are clean, maintained, and job-ready.
- Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers.
- Monitor Contractor Services inventory and confirm product availability before scheduled appointments.
- Support accurate inventory records and report shortages, discrepancies, or damaged materials.
- Assist with Contractor Services warehouse operations and branch-level sales support as needed.
- Maintain compliance with applicable DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and Spectra safety standards.
- Ensure loads are properly secured and transported using safe handling practices.
- Follow and reinforce required personal protective equipment and safe-work practices at all jobsites.
- Immediately report and document safety incidents, equipment damage, vehicle concerns, and compliance violations.
- Maintain consistent communication with Contractor Services and Operations team members.
- Provide timely updates regarding job progress, delays, equipment issues, and customer concerns.
- Collaborate with branch personnel and other internal teams to resolve operational and customer issues.
- Adapt quickly to jobsite changes, scheduling issues, and other operational challenges.
Requirements
- Experience in construction, gutter installation, material delivery, or a similar field operatio9ns environment preferred.
- Experience operating or working with roll-forming equipment, gutter machines, or similar machinery preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record required.
- Commercial Driver’s License strongly preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA requirements and jobsite safety practices.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities in field and warehouse environments.
- Ability to lift and handle materials, safely operate equipment, and perform physical work for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
- Ability to travel locally and complete occasional overnight travel of less than 10%.
