Position Summary:
The Sr. Tax Analyst will prepare, and train others in calculating the partnership tax workpapers - including partner allocation of taxable income and expense items, tax returns and their associated schedules and attachments, reportable transaction analysis, fund structure guidance, tax estimates, as well as other client deliverables. The Sr. Tax Analyst must possess alternative tax experience in addition to having a strong client relationship focus and a team attitude.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Security Analysis
Prepare and review investment security analysis
Work with Financial Reporting and Fund Accounting teams
Clear audit points.
2. Income Tax Provision
Prepare and review the income tax provision.
Clear audit points
3. Income Tax Allocations
Review the income tax allocations to each partner
Aware of specially allocated items
Application of incentive and management fees
4. Analysis of Structure
Consult and train others on funds structure to understand the flow through of income and expense items properly
5. Reportable Transactions
Review prepared reportable transactions
6. Federal/state tax returns
Prepare, using tax software application, federal and state returns
Clear audit points
File return on behalf of the client with federal and local tax agencies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
BS/BA degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience
Minimum of two years of Partnership tax experience
Solid understanding of tax concepts, practices, and procedures
Strong client service skills
Ability to understand financial statements and fund accounting reports and spreadsheets
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word needed.
Understanding of mutual fund related tax code sections, forms and elections, and tax adjustments of securities.
Ability to conceptualize and execute projects and initiatives through to completion
Creative problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify, recommend, and implement solutions for tax-related client issues
Salary Range
MA: $65,000 - $90,000 salary + annual target bonus
BBH and its affiliates' compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
