A Day in the Life
Do you want to join the Medtronic family and be the visible face and first point of contact for our customers? We are looking for a customer-focused, independent Field Service Engineer to support our Service & Repair team. In this role, you will use your strong technical skills and commercial drive to work across a defined territory, travelling to customers as needed to support the maintenance and growth of revenue through service plans, spare parts, and other value-added services.As a Field Service Engineer, you will represent Medtronic across our product portfolio by performing preventive maintenance and first-level repairs on small, medium, and large capital equipment. You will also provide technical expertise and training to hospital technicians and Medtronic colleagues, while ensuring full compliance with corporate, safety, quality, and technical regulations. Based in the Lisbon area, you will support major hospitals across central and southern Portugal.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Carry out preventive maintenance checks and first-level repairs on assigned Medtronic medical equipment at customer sites
- Complete all required service documentation accurately and on time and keep database records updated
- Execute technical service activities in line with the agreed Service Delivery Plan and manager guidance
- Monitor territory performance metrics and implement action plans to support service delivery and operational targets
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures, maintenance cost and profitability standards, and customer response time requirements
- Complete all required field service corrective actions within the assigned territory by the due date
- Act as a trusted ambassador for the EMEA Service and Repair team, supporting customers and sales teams while always following safety standards
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Secondary or higher education in Electromechanics, Electronics, Mechanics, or another relevant technical field
- At least 1 year of relevant experience maintaining electronic or electro-mechanical equipment in a field service environment
- Fluent in Portuguese and good level of English to understand technical manuals and participate in training and meetings
- Valid driving license
- Experience working with regulated processes and procedures, as well as maintenance tracking or preventive maintenance software
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with accuracy, punctuality, a solution-oriented mindset, and good proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
Autonomous, responsible, and organized, self-motivated and proactive, with an experience in working in the hospital setting or medical device industry and/or technical Knowledge of medical devices would be an asset. Spanish language skills are highly valued.
