Job Summary:

The Suicide Prevention Manager will be responsible for implementing and coordinating the strategic, quality and safety initiatives related to suicide prevention across the health system. The Suicide Prevention Manager is responsible for the daily oversight and supervision of the suicide prevention team to ensure high quality services and education are delivered utilizing evidenced-based practices. This position will be responsible for identifying system training needs and leading process improvement initiatives. This position will also be responsible for developing relationships with leadership, key stakeholders and team members to help achieve goals and Key Performance Indicators.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Coordinate and support members of WellStar's Zero Suicide team
*Provides direct supervision, support, coaching and education to Suicide Prevention Case Managers and oversees daily operations of the Suicide Prevention Team.
*Maintains a partial caseload and/or absorbs caring outreach referrals based on volume and needs of the team
*Help provide coverage or other needed assistance during times of disaster
*Monitors staff productivity and performance to ensure quality services are being provided
*Ensures fidelity to caring outreach care pathways and assists in developing and implementing specialized pathways for sub-populations.
*Participates in Behavioral Health Leadership Administrator On Call rotation.

Provide project management leadership as related to Suicide Prevention
*Work with Behavioral Health Manager to coordinate standardized and objective measures of success related to screening, assessment, safety planning adherence, etc.
*Maintain Zero Suicide Dashboard and prepare metrics for leadership use and reporting purposes
*Monitor adherence to best practices pertaining to suicide prevention across care sites
*Meet with key system stakeholders to socialize and update the WellStar Zero Suicide strategy
*Coordinate suicide prevention activities, including WellStar and community- based training requests, implementation of Zero Suicide elements, etc.
*Assist in strategic planning as it relates to continued implementation of the Zero Suicide Initiative and expansion of the support provided by the Suicide Prevention Team.
*Present Suicide Prevention Team data, updates and progress towards goals at the Behavioral Health Service Line level

Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), participating in critical safety discussions, developing policies pertaining to suicidality to help create a culture of safety and prevent adverse outcomes
*Function as a subject matter expert (SME) and point of contact regarding suicide prevention for the health system
*Establish familiarity with the Zero Suicide initiative, Self-Directed Violence Classification System, Joint Commission standards, and emerging best practices related to the care of patients at-risk for suicide
*Coordinate development and delivery of educational content on Suicide Prevention best practices and related topics
*Inform policy development and assist in implementation of those policies across the system

Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

• Masters Psychology or Masters Professional Counseling or Masters Social Work or Masters Other / Related Field

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

• BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
• LCSW - Lic Clinical Social Worker GA or LPC - Lic Professional Counselor

Additional License(s) and Certification(s):

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 5 years of management experience in a behavioral health setting; experience in suicide prevention within a health or behavioral health system Required

Required Minimum Skills:

Ability to relate to and effectively communicate with people from all economic, racial, age, ethnic, and social groups
Knowledge of best practices related to suicide prevention
Commitment to developing and maintaining a culture of safety
Project management knowledge and experience
Understanding of accrediting bodies as related to the healthcare system
Knowledge of the health system environment
Ability to function as a self-starter, while collaborating with a team
Commitment to self-care
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
