Materials Handler

POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintain and organize outside storage of raw materials. Stage materials for operations to run in order needed as you release orders for them.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Promotes a safe and accident-free workplace.

· Maintain organization in designated areas.

· Stage material for shop use

· Release workorder based on shop need

· Makes inventory movements as product mover through the shop.

· Compiles and maintains inventory of material received, stocked and issued.

· Safely drive and operate a forklift

· Safely Operate overhead crane.

· Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three-month related experience and/or training preferred.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills.

· Ability to always maintain an upbeat and positive attitude.

· Ability to work in self-directed, fast-paced professional environment.

· High proficiency with computers skills, including email, MS Office.

· Must be able to interface with others in a professional manner.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

· Ability to read and interpret CST and customer prints and documents.

· Ability to write routine reports in a professional manner.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

· Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole, fractional and decimal numbers.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

· Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

· Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation.

· Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

· Advanced level of knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

· Knowledge of ERP systems (D365) Preferred

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Walk, must be able to move about inside the manufacturing and office and occasionally on a construction site or outside of the manufacturing facility.

· Use hands/fingers to feel, must be able to operate computers, machinery, dimensional equipment.

· Sit and stand, must be able to work at a stationary desk that may require sitting or standing. Standing on concrete floors and uneven terrain will be required frequently.

· Climb and balance, must climb stairs and ladders.

· Stoop, kneel and crouch or crawl.

· Talk/hear, must be able to communicate with operators and management frequently and exchange accurate information.

· Lift and carry weights of 50lbs or more.
