Description
Job Description:
Perform routine welding tasks on production components, ensuring weld quality meets established standards.
Operate welding equipment to complete tack welds and continuous welds as required by production specifications.
Use cutting tools and equipment to prepare materials and perform basic metal cutting operations.
Utilize hand and power tools to grind, fit, and prepare metal components for welding.
Select appropriate materials and settings to support effective welding processes.
Inspect completed welds for quality and consistency and identify basic defects.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines while handling equipment and materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support production efficiency.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Assist with material preparation and movement within the work area.
Support other production activities within the welding area as needed.
Follow standard work instructions and participate in training opportunities.
Communicate issues or concerns to supervisors for resolution.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED);
0+ years of experience in welding, manufacturing, or a related field,
Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Prior experience in welding or manufacturing preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of welding techniques and equipment.
Ability to follow instructions and standard procedures.
Familiarity with hand and power tools.
Strong attention to detail and quality of work.
Ability to work as part of a team in a production environment.
Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
Essential and Physical Functions:
Frequent standing for extended periods, up to the majority of the work shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Use of fine and gross motor skills for welding and tool operation.
Ability to follow directions and perform repetitive tasks.
Visual acuity to identify weld quality and defects.
Work Environment:
Perform all tasks on-site in a manufacturing environment.
Exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, and welding fumes.
Regular exposure to noise from machinery and equipment.
Work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts.
Compliance with all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Regular interaction with production team members and supervisors.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmets, and protective clothing.
