Position Summary:

This dual-role position supports both general event operations and NASTAR alpine race activities, playing a key part in delivering memorable guest experiences. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down event infrastructure, assisting with logistics, and maintaining a safe, organized environment. As part of the NASTAR Race Crew, the role also involves preparing racecourses, operating timing systems, and supporting participants to ensure a fun and safe racing experience for all ages and skill levels.

Expect most shifts to be over weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setup and teardown of event spaces, including tents, signage, tables, and equipment.
  • Support event operations such as registration, guest assistance, and crowd management.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of event areas before, during, and after events.
  • Set up and maintain racecourses, including gates, fencing, and timing equipment.
  • Operate timing systems and record race results accurately.
  • Assist racers with registration, start procedures, and post-race activities.
  • Monitor course safety and conditions, making adjustments as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and participants.
  • Collaborate with ski patrol and mountain operations to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate concerns to supervisors as needed.

  • Shovel Snow
  • Ski/Board grooming of racecourse

  • Understanding of Schweitzer and its services

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications: none

Technical: Basic computer skills, previous Race background is preferred. Skiing or riding at an expert level is preferred.

Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand or walk on snow for the entirety of your shift. Ability to be outside in all weather conditions. Able to lift 50 lbs on your own and up to 100 lbs with assistance.

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required-              English reading, writing and communication.

Minimum time in related position-       1-2 years in an on-snow position preferred
