This permanent, year-round position provides staffing coverage at transfer stations throughout Bonney Lake, Puyallup, Graham, and Gig Harbor. The successful candidate must be comfortable working at multiple locations and adapting to changing schedules based on operational needs.
Before You Apply: Please Read Carefully
This is a permanent relief position, not a traditional part-time job.
We want applicants to fully understand the scheduling expectations before applying.
This Position Does NOT Offer:
A fixed weekly schedule
Set days off each week
Guaranteed weekly hours
A permanent work location
The ability to work only certain days of the week
Accommodations for limited availability
A schedule built around another job, school schedule, childcare schedule, or other personal commitments
The option to work exclusively at one transfer station
This Position DOES Require:
Availability to work any day of the week, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed
Availability to work at multiple locations throughout Pierce County
Reliable transportation and willingness to commute where needed
Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work locations
Dependable attendance and reliability
Willingness to accept assignments based on operational needs
This role is designed to provide relief coverage for vacations, leaves of absence, training, sick calls, and staffing shortages throughout our district. As a result, schedules, hours, and work locations can change frequently based on business needs.
While schedules are generally communicated in advance, they are subject to change based on operational needs.
Successful employees in this position are flexible, dependable, and available to work when coverage is needed.
If you are looking for guaranteed hours, a predictable schedule, specific days off, restricted availability, or one assigned work location, this position is likely not the right fit.
