Lucky Rental Tool is seeking a dependable and experienced Motor Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for performing repairs, routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and inspections on company fleet vehicles and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities 

• Perform maintenance and repairs on company fleet vehicles, including cars, trucks, heavy equipment, tractor/trailers, and other motor vehicles.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tune-ups, and scheduled services.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through visual inspections and computer diagnostic equipment.
• Test vehicle parts and systems to ensure proper operation.
• Inspect critical vehicle components and systems using established checklists.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components, including brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
• Plan and prioritize repairs and maintenance to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
• Travel to job sites as needed to inspect or service vehicles.
• Test drive vehicles following repairs to confirm safe and proper operation.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and understand service and repair manuals.
• Experience using computer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education & Experience 

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical training, apprenticeship, or similar training in automotive repair preferred.
• Two years of related mechanical experience preferred.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required depending on job duties.

Work Requirements

This is a physically active position that requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, stretch, squat, kneel, climb, and reach while performing repairs and inspections.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Push and pull equipment or materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Occasionally lift or carry heavier items as required.
• Safely work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Work around noise, dust, fumes, chemicals, gases, heat, cold, damp conditions, and other typical shop or field conditions.
• Maintain sufficient manual dexterity, hand/grip strength, and depth perception to safely perform mechanical work.
