American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Production Supervisor at the Tiffin, OH facility. This position will report to the Production Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
Injection Molding
- Utilize prior experience leading injection molding team, as well as working knowledge of processing plastics.
- Troubleshoot and adjust molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output.
- Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.
General
- Maintains safe and clean work environment.
- Knowledge of production KPIs and communicate the KPIs to production staff.
- Evaluate and provide timely feedback on employee performance; motivate and develop a cohesive production team; maintain production and attendance records.
- Make timely decisions to maintain production output and quickly analyze situations and provide direction to production staff.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to maximize productivity, reduce waste, improve quality, reduce costs, and provide a safe work environment.
- Monitor processes to ensure productivity and quality standards are being achieved.
- Analyze and resolve processing issues.
- Understand escalation process for when issues move from maintenance to engineering.
- Understand schedules and priorities.
- Interact well with all levels of the organization.
Safety
- Report incident reports
- Understand how to preform root cause investigation and corrective actions.
- Waste Management and monitoring what is happening on the floor.
- Effectively communicate with Process / Maintenance when an issue needs to be, so it does not become a safety issue, or give direction due to production demand.
Requirements
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years related experience, Plastic Injection knowledge is a MUST.
- Hybrid Candidate – Willing to roll up sleeves and be on the floor as well as office management
