Job Summary:
The Group HR Director is responsible for leading the delivery of all talent management strategies for Modaxo ANZ across a multi-location environment.The focus of the role will be on employee development, building and enhancing leadership capabilities, enhancing employee engagement through strong development and retention programs, designing onboarding procedures, implementing HR strategies that support business objectives, workforce planning and forecasting staffing needs, mitigating risk, managing the HRIS system and processes, designing accountability mechanisms, and overseeing overall employment needs. Modaxo is highly acquisitive, and the Group HR Director is also responsible for supporting/leading the HR due diligence and integration of acquired businesses.
The role directly supports the Group leadership team and Business Unit (BU) leaders. Additionally, the role provides dotted-line coaching and advice to HR Business Partners across the Group BUs. As a strategic leader and trusted advisor, the position requires a forward-thinking approach to predict and address complex HR challenges.
Job Description:
- Develop and implement the Group HR strategies and policies in alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Oversee the learning and development strategy for the Group, including strategic leadership programs, to enhance leadership capabilities and build bench strength.
- Lead succession planning efforts to ensure a robust leadership pipeline.
- Drive an informed & consistent approach to compensation and benefits across the Group.
- Oversee key HR functions e.g. performance & talent management for the Group.
- Lead and develop best-practice talent management processes, including talent development, and retention programs.
- With a focus on the employee experience, measure employee engagement, satisfaction, wellness, and retention, and work with Group and BU leaders to improve.
- Facilitate collaboration and sharing of best practices within the wider HR teams and across the Group.
- Support M&A activities, including HR due diligence and people integration.
- Oversee Group-wide HR compliance and reporting.
- Oversee HR Information Systems (HRIS) and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide strategic consultation on workforce planning and organisational design.
- Support Talent Acquisition and attract the best recruits by overseeing recruitment processes, with direct involvement in leadership hiring.
- Contribute to creating an employer brand that stands out from the competition.
- Help create a seamless and engaging onboarding program that can scale and quickly facilitate high productivity of new employees.
- Promote accountability and alignment with the organisation’s values and competencies.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Success in this role requires:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, with professional certification (e.g., AHRI).
- Extensive HR experience, including in both operational and strategic HR.
- Knowledge and understanding of employment regulations and HR practices.
- Outstanding people skills and highly developed coaching, communication, and influencing skills, and resilience to challenges.
- Expertise in creating and implementing learning and development frameworks.
- Ability to build comprehensive succession planning that identifies, develops, and retains high-potential talent.
- Strong strategic thinking, organisational skills, and business and financial acumen to align HR strategies with business goals.
- Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage in tough conversations and provide actionable feedback.
- Proven track record of building strong working relationships with business and human resource partners while fostering a cooperative work environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including influencing and change management skills.
- Courage, grit, and resilience to navigate complex challenges.
- Advanced problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering measurable results.
- Proficiency in HRIS software (ideally Workday) and advanced Excel capabilities for data analysis.
- Outstanding project management and organisational skills to coordinate multiple concurrent, complex, and high-priority initiatives.
- Experience of managing HR processes during mergers or acquisitions is preferred.
- Certification in Hogan Assessments is desirable but not mandatory.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain objective while working with sensitive and confidential materials.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
