Description
The Maintenance Coordinator is a hands-on maintenance role responsible for supporting the reliable and efficient operation of the plant while coordinating key maintenance systems and activities. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong maintenance background and informal leadership experience who enjoys solving problems and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, while maintaining maintenance support systems to keep the plant running efficiently.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED (Associate trade degree a plus)
- Strong troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred
- Manufacturing maintenance experience 2-4 years on maintaining and troubleshooting equipment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Organized in tracking multiple tasks, schedules, and projects at once
- Experience using computer programs to log work and parts, and to track inventory
- Basic understanding of tools, building systems, and/or machinery
- Motors, pumps, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, and valves
- Electrical safety and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a production environment
JOB DUTIES:
- Create, assign, and track repair work orders and preventative maintenance from start to finish using logs or digital tracking system accurately
- Order replacement parts, tools, and supplies while tracking and maintaining inventory tracking system
- Plan routine checkups, fix urgent problems and minimize production downtime
- Support the Plant Manager and Maintenance Supervisor with scheduling and overseeing outside contractor repairs and maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment and production systems
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment and utilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot motors, drives, pumps, valves, and control systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
- Supporting automation and control systems troubleshooting
- Assist with facility maintenance and equipment improvements
- Supervise and coordinate employee training, as needed
- Follow all food safety, quality, and safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Serve as back-up to the Maintenance Supervisor, as needed
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to operate all plant and office equipment necessary to accomplish job duties
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as needed
- Ability to work weekends, overtime, and occasional call-ins as required
- Ability to operate lifts and other maintenance-related equipment safely
- Ability to operate industrial equipment such as hand wrenches, welders, power tools, cutting torch, and tape measure
- Ability to drive and maintain a valid driver license
- Ability to utilize basic math skills, including a variety of calculations
- Ability to legibly document data for record keeping purposes
- Ability to read and record data from various gauge
- Analytical ability related to complex information and problem solving
- Ability to implement all safety procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Ability to understand and communicate technical information through use of written documentation or oral presentation
- Knowledge of organizational methods and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
- Ability to recognize food safety violations or product quality issues and resolve immediately or, if unable to resolve, notify Plant Manager and/or the Quality Control Supervisor
- Ability to assist other work-related areas as requested
