Duties/Responsibilities:
- Cleans, stocks, and readies the department for care of patients.
- Orders equipment and supplies; maintains par levels of supplies
- Maintains equipment and prepares for readiness.
- Performs housekeeping duties as needed (i.e: emptying trash and linen; returning supplies).
- Performs errands to other areas of the hospital.
- Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.
- Performs clinical functions, utilizes sterile technique when necessary, and obtains labs specimens, vital signs, and other tasks as needed.
- Carries out tasks as directed by physicians, nurse director and nursing staff.
- To include ,cast removal and wound site cleaning, accurate measurements of the Wound bed, pictures and documenting
- Maintenance of the medical records located on the nursing unit.
- Unit receptionist responsibilities: telephone, scheduling, insurance auth, billing input
- Back up for front desk responsibilities
- Responsible for the performance of clerical duties on the nursing unit

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Possesses organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrated communication skill, verbal and written
- Current knowledge of medical terminology -must have taken and successfully completed a Medical Terminology Course within the past 2 years (or be able to pass a medical terminology competency equivalent to final exam of medical terminology course at time of interview).
- Ability to concentrate and prioritize in distracting environment
- Ability to work at a quick pace with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to transcribe information & medication orders into Meditech system accurately. Previous Meditech experience preferred.
- Wound center experience preferred
Education Required
- Written and verbal English skills at 12th grade level.
- Knowledge of basic patient care and technical procedures.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
Registration/Certification
- AHA BLS Certification
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA Certification or equivalent) required or Medical Assistant certification required
Physical/Environmental Requirements
This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.

Pay Range:
$19.90 - $34.81This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
