About This Job
Builds and operates the monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting stack that gives the organization real-time visibility into service health. Works across three experience tiers (junior, mid, senior/SME) on a shared bench that owns instrumentation, dashboards, SLOs, and incident triage.Key responsibilities
● Instrument applications and infrastructure with metrics, logs, and traces using OpenTelemetry or an equivalent standard
● Build and maintain dashboards, SLIs/SLOs, and alerting rules in platforms such as Datadog, Grafana/Prometheus, Splunk, or Dynatrace
● Participate in on-call rotation; triage and troubleshoot production incidents using observability tooling
● Partner with application and platform teams to reduce alert noise and close monitoring blind spots
● Support adoption of AIOps and anomaly-detection tooling to reduce mean-time-to-detect (MTTD)
● Contribute to runbooks, post-incident reviews, and observability-as-code practices
● Support capacity and performance analysis for critical services
Required qualifications
● 1–5 years in SRE, DevOps, observability engineering, or platform engineering (level set by depth of experience)
● Hands-on experience with at least one major observability platform (Datadog, Splunk, Grafana/Prometheus, Dynatrace, New Relic, or similar)
● Working knowledge of Linux, containers/Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
● Scripting ability in Python, Go, or Bash
● Understanding of SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
Preferred qualifications
● Experience with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, or log pipeline engineering (Fluentd/Fluent Bit, Kafka)
● Exposure to AIOps or ML-based anomaly detection
● Financial services or other regulated-industry experience
● Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Success metrics / KPIs
● Improvement in mean-time-to-detect (MTTD) and mean-time-to-resolve (MTTR)
● Reduction in alert-to-noise ratio
● SLO/dashboard coverage across critical services
● Quality of on-call participation and post-incident reviews
