Description
The Virtual CFO Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking a Tax Supervisor who is motivated to learn, excited to collaborate and passionate about delivering outstanding results. This individual will have a direct impact on our firm’s mission of serving as a catalyst for those striving to achieve their highest potential.
The VCFO Tax Supervisor is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and review of Federal, State, and Local tax returns while supporting tax planning and consulting initiatives for Virtual CFO clients. This role works closely with Virtual CFOs, the Tax Managers, and the Tax Director to coordinate tax compliance, identify planning opportunities, communicate tax matters to clients, and respond to governmental notices. The Tax Supervisor also oversees the day-to-day preparation of tax work, reviews work prepared by support staff (domestic and offshore), and mentors team members to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely completion of tax engagements.
What You’ll Do:
Industry Tax Supervisor:
- Prepare and review accurate and timely Federal, State, and Local tax returns.
- Assist with tax planning and projections for corporate and partnership clients.
- Reviews and responds to government notices.
- Clearly communicate tax preparation results and planning recommendations to clients.
- Research tax issues and analyze governmental notices, preparing responses as needed.
- Identify tax savings opportunities and collaborate with the Tax Manager and Tax Director on planning strategies.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and quality service.
- Assist in mentoring, developing, and coaching tax professionals.
VCFO Team Tax Supervisor:
- Prepare and review assigned CFO corporate and partnership tax returns.
- Prepare and review assigned CFO shareholder and partner tax returns.
- Review tax work prepared by Entigrity staff and provide timely feedback to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist the Tax Manager with technical reviews and analytical review preparation.
- Attend weekly Pod meetings to identify tax planning opportunities, research needs, and upcoming client deliverables.
- Coordinate with Virtual CFOs, accountants, and the Tax Manager to ensure timely completion of tax-related deliverables.
- Assist with estimated tax payment calculations and tax planner preparation.
- Coordinate meetings with the CFO, client, and Tax Manager to facilitate timely communication regarding tax matters.
- Assist with 1099 preparation and fixed asset reviews.
- Coordinate responses to client tax notices and information requests.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of corporate, partnership, and individual taxation.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build client relationships and provide exceptional client service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across the VCFO team.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Licensed & Active CPA preferred.
- Approximately 5–7 years of tax experience preparing corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with CCH Axcess Tax, ProSystem fx Fixed Assets, BNA Income Tax Planner, or similar tax software preferred.
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Anders reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and firm business practices.
