The QC/QA Manager is responsible for driving the vision, strategy, management and evolution of the site Quality department including the QC laboratory and QA team. The Quality Manager is a key member of the Senior Site Leadership Team.
The role:
As a QC/QA Manager, you will help drive our goals by:
- Ensures safe operation of the Quality Department with a focus on continuous improvement of safety culture and systems.
- Serves as a key contributing member of the site leadership team, working collaboratively with peers to drive site improvements outside of Quality Department.
- Works within the PGMS and JM site network to determine and share best practices.
- Tracks, analyzes and reports QMS, KPI, COPQ and customer satisfaction data trends and recommends actions for continual improvement.
- Responsible for QA team delivery of customer, ISO and other quality system audits.
- Ensures processes and procedures needed for the QMS are established, implemented and maintained, as well as stop manufacturing processes or product shipments that are not in conformance with internal quality standards or customer requirements.
- Provides absolute confidence that analytical accuracy and precision are maintained while ensuring laboratory operations meet business and customer needs.
- Provides direction, leadership and coaching to QA and QC personnel.
- Provides customer complaint detail to Site Director and coordinates corrective and preventive actions to ensure customer satisfaction and protect base business. Promotes awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
- Monitors cross-functional team investigation and root cause analysis of corrective actions, especially those related to customer complaints. Presents formal responses of findings to customers as required. Serves as JM quality expert for resolution of product-related technical problems.
- Monitors and ensures Quality Department budget is adhered to.
- Carries out any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
Key Skills the will help you succeed in this role:
- B.A. or B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related technical field
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience supervisory/management
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality System Managements
- Knowledge of common analytical techniques and best practices
- Six-sigma trained – Desirable
- Ability to drive safe work practices
- Ability to construct and carry out diverse plans and priorities within specific timetables
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong service-first leadership approach
- Strong analytical skills
