We're looking for an experienced, relationship-driven Business Development Mortgage Loan Officer to join our growing Lending team, serving the Union Springs, NY and/or Lansing, NY markets.

This role is ideal for a lender who already has—or is excited to build—a strong network of referral partners, Realtors®, builders, attorneys, financial professionals, and community connections in these markets.

What You'll Do

As a key member of our lending team, you will:

• Generate new residential mortgage business throughout the Lansing and/or Union Springs communities through      networking, community involvement, referrals, and business development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Realtors®, builders, attorneys, financial professionals, and other referral partners.
• Originate residential mortgage loans, including conventional mortgages, FHA and VA loans, Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOCs), and Home Equity Loans.
• Consult with customers to understand their financial goals and recommend lending solutions that best meet their needs.
• Guide borrowers through every step of the mortgage process—from application through closing—with exceptional communication and personalized service.
• Cross-sell consumer lending products and other Bank services to deepen customer relationships.
• Collaborate with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure an efficient and seamless customer experience.
• Stay current on mortgage products, lending regulations, market trends, and interest rates.
• Represent Cayuga Lake National Bank at local networking events, Chamber activities, and community organizations to strengthen our presence and build lasting partnerships.
• Meet and exceed individual production goals while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required

• Active NMLS registration and licensing.
• Proven experience originating residential mortgage loans and business development.
• Existing book of business or established referral network in the Lansing, Union Springs, or surrounding Finger Lakes market highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and home equity lending products.
• Excellent communication, sales, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local business development activities.
• High school diploma or GED.  College degree preferred.

· Compensation: Guaranteed First-Year Base Salary: $65,000–$75,000 (based on experience), plus commissions and potential production bonuses. We understand that building a strong pipeline takes time. That's why we offer a guaranteed first-year base salary to provide financial stability while you establish and grow your business.
