Description
Role Overview:
Seeking a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) for a full-time, temporary contract assignment in Claremont, NH. Working under the direct supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs), the LNA delivers basic nursing, restorative care, and routine daily living assistance to residents in a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities & Clinical Scope
Resident Personal Care & Mobility:
- Assist residents with all daily living activities (ADLs), including personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, and skin care treatments per facility protocols and individualized care plans.
- Assist residents with ambulation, positioning, turning, range-of-motion exercises, transfers, and movement support.
- Support residents with hydration, feeding, caloric intake counts, and bodily waste needs (toileting, bowel/bladder retraining, input/output measurements).
Environmental Safety & Infection Control:
- Adhere strictly to infection control procedures and maintain a safe, clean living environment for staff and residents.
- React swiftly and appropriately to emergency situations (e.g., fire drills, resident falls, wandering or confused residents) in accordance with facility safety protocols.
- Protect resident privacy, dignity, and rights at all times while providing empathetic, person-centered care.
Communication & Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Attend shift reports prior to beginning resident care.
- Promptly report significant changes in resident physical or mental conditions, equipment or supply needs, and operational performance issues to supervising LPNs/RNs.
- Review and follow Resident Care Plans; encourage optimal physical and mental resident independence as appropriate.
Candidate Submission & Profile Requirements
Minimum Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience: 1+ years of recent LNA / nursing assistant experience [REQUIRED].
- Flexibility: Willingness to float across long-term care units as needed [REQUIRED].
- Background: Previous travel contract experience and rural/community care experience [HIGHLY PREFERRED].
Licensure & Mandatory Health Requirements:
- State Licensure: Active New Hampshire LNA license or valid Nursing Compact license active at the time of submission [REQUIRED].
- Certifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification [REQUIRED].
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Full COVID-19 vaccination series [REQUIRED; documentation must be uploaded in profile; client does NOT accept exemptions/declinations].
- Shift Schedule: 8-Hour Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) | Must be available for alternate shifts if needed.
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 Hours/Week Guaranteed.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend rotation.
- On-Call Requirements: No on-call requirement.
- Holiday Requirements: Must be willing to work the Labor Day holiday (and the preceding weekend) if scheduled.
