This position will report into the Foundational Capabilities Team in the Engineering Services Department, under the Digital Engineering Solutions Directorate - Digital Technology.  The Foundation Capabilities team is responsible for providing foundational support for Digital Operations Engineering/Ops and Directorate Operational requirements. In this role, the contributor will be responsible for providing IT solutions for application license service operations, configurations, sustainment, application utilization monitoring, upgrades, support tool integrations, and compliance/security approvals.  

What You Will Do:

  • Administer and support engineering license servers across Windows Server and Linux environments, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance.
  • Support application teams by providing strong operational, administrative, and technical understanding of engineering license managers (FlexLM, Reprise/RLM, CodeMeter, SentinelRMS, SentinelHASP, and vendor‑specific models) to help ensure their license services run reliably across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance license managers, working closely with tool owners to monitor usage, address outages, optimize configurations, and validate entitlement alignment.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and platform teams during sustainment activities and major version upgrades to understand upcoming changes, assess potential impacts to license managers, and ensure licensing services remain fully supported, accessible, and properly integrated across environments.
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and evaluation of Disaster Recovery plans for license services, ensuring licensing-related components and processes are accounted for within broader DT resiliency strategies.
  • Support monitoring, alerting, and reporting solutions for license availability, denials, peak usage, and server health across large‑scale environments.
  • Develop automated workflows using Power BI, PowerApps, and PowerShell to streamline manual processes and improve transparency for tool owners and engineering teams.
  • Build advanced Power BI dashboards and data models leveraging big‑data sets from license logs, license managers, and Splunk reports.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including admin procedures, dashboards, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Partner with stakeholders across engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and DT service owners to align licensing operations with enterprise policies, audits, and roadmap requirements.


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration experience including log handling, permissions, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with one or more of the engineering license managers (FlexLM, Reprise/RLM, CodeMeter, SentinelRMS, SentinelHASP, and vendor‑specific technologies)
  • Experience automating workflows using PowerApps, PowerShell, or similar technologies.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other languages used in analytics or automation.
  • Experience supporting large/complex environments, including distributed license servers, multi‑site usage, and cross‑platform deployments.
  • Power BI expertise, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and dashboard construction for technical metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills with big‑data log sets, including parsing, structuring, and extracting trend‑ready metrics.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into guidance for tool owners and engineering teams.
  • with the ability to understand their networking, administrative, and operational behaviors well enough to support others.
  • Experience working in controlled or restricted environments, including facilitating troubleshooting inside classified labs.
  • Exposure to license usage analytics, concurrency metrics, and entitlement validation.
  • Experience working with cloud environments (AWS/Azure) supporting hybrid deployments.
  • Familiarity with Splunk or other log‑analysis platforms.
  • Experience working in the Aerospace & Defense industry.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
