Location Details: This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in the office and remote).
Position Schedule / Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EST. Schedule may be adjusted depending on departmental or project needs.
Position Summary: The Business Analytics Engineer II is responsible for analyzing membership and customer data to deliver insights that support business growth, retention, and engagement strategies. This role partners with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations to identify trends, measure campaign performance, evaluate key membership metrics, and provide actionable recommendations. Responsibilities include developing Tableau dashboards and reports, writing SQL queries, conducting data analysis, supporting testing and segmentation initiatives, and translating complex data into meaningful business insights that drive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct moderately complex analytical projects including member behavior analysis, retention driver identification, campaign effectiveness measurement, and cohort analysis
Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities in membership data
Support pricing analysis by evaluating elasticity, competitive positioning, and revenue impact scenarios
Analyze member segmentation and develop targeting recommendations for marketing initiatives
Calculate and monitor key membership metrics including lifetime value, churn rates, retention curves, and acquisition costs
Participate in A/B test design and conduct statistical analysis to measure incrementality and significance
Synthesize findings from multiple data sources into clear, actionable recommendations
Design, build, and maintain dashboards in Tableau that enable insight for stakeholders
Develop automated reporting solutions that reduce manual effort and improve data accessibility
Create compelling data visualizations that effectively communicate complex information to varied audiences
Establish and document dashboard design standards and best practices
Troubleshoot and optimize dashboard performance, including improving query efficiency
Maintain reporting documentation and provide training to dashboard users
Write moderately complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources
Develop and maintain data validation processes to ensure reporting accuracy
Partner with data engineering teams to improve data quality and address integration issues
Learn and apply new analytical techniques and tools to enhance team capabilities
Create reusable code and analytical templates to improve team efficiency
Serve as the analytics point of contact for specific functional areas or project streams
Translate business questions into analytical approaches and deliver findings with clear implications
Present analysis results to cross-functional teams and mid-level management
Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to support data-driven decision-making
Proactively identify opportunities where analytics can add value and propose projects
Build credibility as a trusted analytics resource through quality work and responsive service
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, a related quantitative field, or related experience
2-4 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis roles
Demonstrated track record of delivering analytical projects that influenced business decisions
Background in product analytics, marketing analytics, or customer analytics valued
Proficient SQL skills for complex queries, joins, subqueries, and data manipulation
Strong Tableau skills including calculated fields, parameters, table calculations, and dashboard design
Advanced Excel proficiency including complex formulas, macros, and data modeling
Understanding of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling
Familiarity with statistical analysis and hypothesis testing
Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) or marketing automation tools a plus
Basic exposure to Python or R for data analysis preferred
Basic understanding of database concepts and data structures
Solid understanding of subscription/membership business metrics (LTV, churn, retention, CAC)
Knowledge of cohort analysis, funnel analysis, and customer journey mapping
Understanding of marketing channel performance and attribution concepts
Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and experimental design
Ability to connect analytical findings to business strategy and financial outcomes
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
Preferred
Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related discipline)
Experience working with subscription, membership, or recurring revenue business models preferred
Experience in insurance, automotive services, or member-based organizations
Exposure to predictive modeling or machine learning concepts
Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
Tableau Desktop Certified Associate or similar certification
Knowledge of AAA or similar membership organizations
Work Environment: This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in the office and remote). Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come into an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an "as needed" basis for key meetings and collaborative activities. Most employees will be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or team-building events. Works in a temperature-controlled office environment. Travel throughout state/out-of-state, including various ACG clubs and field locations, with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes.

Compensation
Earn a competitive salary of $85,966 - $133,702 with annual bonus potential based on performance.

Time Off & Leave
Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual-based, increases with tenure, eligible at 90 days of employment. Full-time new employees will receive up to 12 PTO days annually; accrual based on start date and may include additional PTO based on role and/or state & local requirements. Part-time employee PTO hours are calculated based upon the standard weekly hours the employee is scheduled to work and will accrue at a minimum of 3 hours per month.
Paid Holidays: Full-time employees are eligible for 10 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day, 2 floating holidays, and 1 volunteer day. Holidays vary by business unit schedules. Part-time employees are eligible for 8 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day and 2 floating holidays. Holidays vary by business unit schedules.
