Schedule: Monday through Friday, including holidays.
Hours: 7:00 am until 3:00 pm, or 6 AM to 2 PM Start and end times may vary. Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.
Applicants must have no disciplinary actions within the last 6 months, a point level = 6 attendance points and 6 months in current area unless the TM is promoting, then less than 6 months in current area is allowable.
Position Summary
- This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing on-farm infrastructure. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preventive maintenance program for all farm vehicles, office, hatchery and poultry houses (50%)
- Connecting electrical wiring and cables; installing lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, wall boxes, and terminal boards, adjusting and operating cutting torch & welder, reading tape measure, building partitions. (20%)
- Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments; repairing or replacing defective parts; reporting machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor (20%)
- Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, such as: Following lock out tag out guidelines and procedures when performing activities that require lock out tag out; performing generator test runs each week (10%)
Minimum Requirements:
- Forklift certified or able to obtain certification.
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare/Safety Requirements:
- The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift and/or move, up to 50 pounds to move items such as vehicle parts, fan motors, tools, etc.; tools, such as pallet jacks, may be required to occasionally move up to 2000 pounds such as skids of supplies, various on-farm equipment, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex; proficiently operate trailer/tractor/skidsteer. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
- Tools and Equipment:
- Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, icy, snowy and cold environments.
- Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles, safety glasses, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and company issued footwear are required; fall protection harness when required. Ear plugs will be used as required. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
- Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectants such as Synergize, Viorcid, Clorox wipes, Lysol, Formaldehyde, parts cleaners, oil, antifreeze, lubricants, etc.
- Safety: Team member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. Team member is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
