Position: Production Manager
Reporting Manager: Plant Manager
Location: Nikom Amata City, Rayong
Normal Working Hour: Mon-Fri 8-5
Job Scope: The Production Manager is responsible for the overall management of manufacturing operations in the plant, including all area and shifts, ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality production. The role is part of the site leadership team and supports smooth operational performance across production and related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manufacturing & Operations Management:
Manage overall production activities across working shifts (all manufacturing lines, as well as related projects).
Ensure efficient, compliant and smooth manufacturing operations.
Deliver production outputs aligned with quality, cost and timeline targets.
Ensure products are produced and stored according to approved documentation.
2. Team Leadership & Development
Lead production supervisors and support staff deliver best-in-class results (safety, quality, delivery and cost)
Develop team capability, build skills, and support career growth.
Drive engagement, motivation, and retention within the production team.
Promote accountability and high-performance culture.
3.GMP & Quality Compliance
Ensure compliance to GMDP/PICS, ISO 13485, SOPs, and regulatory standards.
Review and approve production records before submission to QA.
Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with quality documentation and standards.
Maintain audit readiness and support regulatory, certification inspections.
4.Operational Excellence & Cost Management
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction programs (e.g., MIP – Margin Improvement Program).
Improve operational efficiency, productivity, and process performance through the use of Vantive Operating Management System, Lean Manufacturing principles and other supporting tools.
Identify business indicators and use data to support decision-making.
5. Financial & Resource Management
Develop and manage manufacturing budgets aligned with site strategy.
Optimize use of labor, materials and equipment.
Monitor output and cost performance, ensure delivery against financial targets.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
Interface with manufacturing operations teams and stakeholders to ensure quality commitments are met
Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain
Support overall site strategy and operational alignment.
7. Safety & Compliance
Support and drive ISO14001 and ISO50001 compliance.
Ensure adherence to all EHS policies, procedures, and SOPs
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, or related discipline.
Advanced degree (MBA/ Master’s) is an advantage.
At least 7 years of experience in manufacturing within an international environment, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries
At least 5 years in a leadership role managing production teams.
Strong experience in GMP-regulated environments and quality compliance.
Solid knowledge of production operations, planning, and process optimization.
Proven track record in team leadership, performance management, and staff development.
Experience in continuous improvement (Lean/ Six Sigma) and cost optimization initiatives [glassdoor.ie]
Good understanding of EHS standards and regulatory requirements.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Must be able to show influence in a team environment, proven skills working with cross-functional teams and able to manage multiple projects.
The ability to drive changes.
Strong analytical/statistical problem-solving skills, teaching and presentation skills required.
Fluent English communication skills.
Excellent reading, writing and verbal communication and platform skills in local language as well as English.
