The company is focused on initiatives to improve Total Shareholder Return, of which strengthening the procurement and supply chain function is at the highest priority in the short term.
This role will oversee all Procurement / Purchasing and Supply chain activities and personnel in the company’s life sciences locations in France. The role will be primarily responsible for coordinating with business leaders at the laboratory level and others in the European Procurement function to assess, continue to develop, implement best practices, and lead the Procurement / Purchasing and Supply Chain support function for France.
The role directly reports to the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain Europe region (solid line) and General Manager(s) and Lab Manager(s) for France locations (dotted line) and routinely interacts with Operations, Finance and other management personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with laboratory managers, regional business leaders and European procurement and supply chain leadership to continue procurement execution in France building on existing capabilities, in line with Global procurement policies / procedures and KPI’s.
- Support and manage the centralised procurement and supply chain processes for at least three (3) existing laboratory’s in the country ; including but not limited to:
- Support role out of new ERP – Business Central and create procedures required for its use in all locations;
- Assess, develop and implement inventory management plan for the region supported by the new system, which may include organization of lab storage, min/max reorder points, and/or hub-and-spoke warehouse for consolidating orders and distributing goods to labs in region collaborating with the warehouse team.
- Analyse and execute best practice for centralised quoting, purchasing, expediting and delivery of goods required to support lab operations;
- Work with Regional technical teams to consolidate consumables and vendor to reduce cost / secure supply chains, promote sustainability.
- Improve DPO for the country in line woth corporate targets.
- Provide year on year savings for the business to include Direct and Indirect categories of spend.
- Identify, develop, qualify and improve relationships with existing and new vendors that can support business requirements with focus on increasing reliability and value, while reducing costs and risk.
- Follow and promote the company’s health, safety and sustainability requirements and culture.
- Represent the procurement and supply chain function in meetings with other business areas and regional / global leadership.
- Set respective KPIs and ensure adherence, performance measurement and target achievement.
Skills and Behaviors:
- Cost reduction & savings delivery – track record of delivering year-on-year savings across direct and indirect spend categories
- Ability to negotiate and implement contract terms and conditions without support. With legal support for complex and high value contracts.
- End-to-end procurement management – sourcing, quoting, purchasing, expediting, and delivery
- Vendor management – ability to identify, qualify, develop and manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and assess vendor performance
- The ability to persevere in the face of challenges and exhibit a resolve toward continuous improvement of the procurement and supply chain function.
- Value focused – pursues ways to reduce and improve cost of items and processes in the business and actively documents the savings to prove value.

Experience and Qualifications:
- 5-7+ years of Procurement experience in progressively advancing roles.
- People management – experience supervising small teams (2–3 direct reports), including goal-setting, performance management, and coaching
- Familiarity with life sciences, laboratory, or pharmaceutical/nutraceutical procurement environments is highly desirable
- BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical / Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Experience in working with ERP systems – Microsoft Dynamics – Business Central preferred
