Role Overview

As an EHS Engineer STIVA 1, you will support plant-level environmental, health, and safety programs, help ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal standards, and drive practical improvements that reduce risk and strengthen the safety culture. This role is closely aligned with the responsibilities of a plant-level EHS supervisor and contributes directly to safe, compliant, and well-documented operations.

What will you do?

  • Implement and maintain EHS, environmental, and occupational health and safety policies and programs within the site environment.
  • Conduct routine inspections, audits, and walkthroughs to identify hazards, verify controls, and support corrective actions.
  • Support incident, near-miss, and minor injury investigations, including root-cause analysis and follow-up on preventive actions.
  • Monitor compliance obligations, regulatory updates, permits, licenses, and required documentation.
  • Oversee EHS reporting and documentation in line with internal and external standards.
  • Support training delivery for employees and contractors on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Support risk assessments, emergency preparedness drills, safety committees, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Help strengthen site programs such as machine guarding, LOTO, PPE, contractor safety, and permit-to-work.

How will you do it?

  • Own outcomes with accountability, putting safety, compliance, and integrity at the center of every decision.
  • Stay close to the shop floor, listen to operators and leaders, and remove obstacles before they become risks.
  • Use facts, audits, and root-cause thinking to improve every day and close actions effectively.
  • Work as one team with operations, maintenance, engineering, HR, and contractors to build practical solutions.
  • Communicate clearly and follow up consistently so training, corrective actions, and documentation are completed on time.

What are we looking for?

  • University degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in EHS within manufacturing, industrial, warehousing, logistics, or a similar environment.
  • Practical knowledge of EHS regulations, incident investigation, risk assessment, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Experience supporting audits and managing EHS documentation, reporting, permits, or licenses.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Strong communication, organization, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence safe behaviors at plant level.
  • Intermediate English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with hazardous and non-hazardous waste management.
  • Exposure to environmental compliance monitoring such as air emissions or wastewater.
  • Experience supporting Management of Change, emergency response drills, or safety committees.
  • Training experience as an internal instructor.

What do we offer?

  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Supportive and inclusive work environment.
  • Commitment to work-life balance and employee well-being.
  • Engagement in meaningful projects that make a difference.
