Contrario (YC W25) is building an AI-powered recruiting marketplace that connects elite startup recruiters with fast-growing companies through software and operational tooling. We've raised $2.5M from Y Combinator and Nexus Venture Partners, with angels from Hudson River Trading, Stanford, and OpenAI. Our customers include 250+ companies — Decagon, Listen Labs, and Wispr Flow to other category-defining unicorns — hiring across engineering and GTM roles.

The Role

We're hiring two Founding BizOps to join our team

As a Founding BizOps, you'll own the relationship engine of our marketplace: managing client accounts and our recruiter network end-to-end, while also running sales demos for the companies you manage. Roughly 50% of your time goes into relationship-driven work — client accounts, recruiter relationships, and demos — and the other 50% goes into the systems and playbooks that help the marketplace scale, working closely with our marketplace operations team.

This is a founding-level role for someone who wants outsized ownership early, thrives in ambiguity, and can build genuine trust fast — whether with a frustrated recruiter or a first-time founder client.

Compensation

• Base: $100k–$130k, plus 0.1%–0.3% equity.

What You'll Do

• Own customer accounts. Manage a portfolio of customers and their open roles from onboarding through successful hires. Become the person they call when they need something.
• Manage our best recruiters. Own relationships with a concentrated group of the highest-performing recruiters on Contrario — people earning meaningful income through the network — and help them consistently make placements.
• Run demos and onboard new customers. Learn to independently run product demos, understand hiring needs, close straightforward opportunities, and transition new customers directly into account management.
• Keep the marketplace moving. Chase down stalled searches, unblock recruiters, handle unhappy customers, identify accounts that need attention, and escalate the right things quickly.
• Expand accounts. Know customers well enough to identify new roles and additional hiring needs naturally.

About You

• 1-2 years of experience in high-signal, high-agency environments (Operations, Recruiting, private equity, consulting, or similar) — not open to new grads
• Grindy and high-agency, with strong written and verbal communication
• Comfortable managing a high volume of relationships and inbound requests at once
• Warm, sharp, and quick to build trust
• Bachelor’s degree from a US/CAN/UK University
• Excited to work 5 days/week in office
