Description

What You'd Be Running
You'd carry projects start to finish - preconstruction planning, buyout, execution, close-out. The schedule and the budget are yours, and so is the coordination that keeps both intact: staying ahead of clients and design teams, working out conflicts with other trades before they turn into lost days, and making sure your superintendents have the manpower and material they need to keep production up.

The job also involves:

  • Occasional trips to the jobsite to look at progress and work through problems face-to-face with superintendents and foremen
  • Getting out in front of risk - manpower gaps, long lead times, compressed schedules, unclear scope - and having a plan in place before it costs money
  • Staying current on submittals, RFIs, change orders, daily reports, and close-out packages
  • Enforcing our safety and quality standards on every job
  • Bringing along the assistant project managers on your team

Who Does Well Here
This one suits a PM who's technically solid, decisive, and able to hold several jobs in their head at the same time. When a client, an architect, a foreman, or another trade needs an answer, you're the one they call.

We're looking for at least four years running commercial construction projects, with hands-on drywall and metal framing scope experience. Ceilings, finishes, or Division 8 and 10 exposure is a bonus. On software, we're on Procore, On-Screen Takeoff, and QuickBid - experience in comparable project management, takeoff, or estimating systems carries over fine, and we'll get you up to speed on ours.

The rest of what matters is harder to put on a resume:

  • Communicating plainly with clients, design teams, and the field
  • Leading crews and holding a standard without grinding people down
  • Keeping level when a job changes direction, which on interiors work happens constantly
  • Reading what a client needs before they ask, so the work leads to the next project

Company Background
United Contractor Services is a national specialty subcontractor and one of the Top 50 Walls and Ceilings contractors in North America. We self-perform commercial interior construction - metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, EIFS, stucco, painting, and Division 8 and 10 Specialties - on large-scale projects in major markets nationwide. Accountability and direct communication between the office and the field are how we run our jobs. This role works out of our Denver regional office.

Compensation and Growth
Competitive pay, full benefits, and consistent work on significant commercial projects. We promote from within, and there's a defined route from this seat into senior PM and operations positions.
