Workplace Operations Partner

Department: People

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Bangalore, India

Reporting To: Hana Sekerez

Description

We're looking for our first dedicated Workplace Operations hire in Bangalore, sitting within our global People team.

Our People Success team already supports our tech hubs through People Partnering. As Bangalore continues to grow, this role will take local ownership of Workplace Operations and Talent, while partnering closely with our Finance teams to ensure the office is set up to operate effectively and scale successfully.

You'll own Workplace Operations in India, support hiring for the Bangalore office and help with the day-to-day Finance activities that keep the office running smoothly. You'll work closely with our global People Success, Talent Acquisition and Finance teams, while becoming a key point of contact for our Bangalore team and building deep knowledge of local employment practices to help shape how we operate in India.

This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and improving how things work.

At FundApps, we hire carefully, give people ownership and trust them to make decisions. We work collaboratively, keep things simple and focus on building products and experiences we're proud of.

We're a growing global company with offices in London, New York, Singapore, Braga and Bangalore. As we grow, we're committed to holding on to the things that matter: giving people the autonomy to make decisions, encouraging new ideas and continuously improving how we work.

If you like variety, enjoy making things better and would rather solve a problem than wait for someone else to pick it up, you'll fit in well here

What You'll Be Working On

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operational side of our People function in India.

This includes:
  • Supporting People Operations in India across activities such as onboarding, offboarding, employee documentation, benefits and local compliance.
  • Building and improving how we work, spotting gaps and creating simple, scalable processes as the Bangalore team grows.
  • Supporting our Bangalore hiring, working with hiring managers and our global Talent team, as well as helping us build relationships with universities and local talent communities.
  • Keeping our Bangalore workplace running smoothly, managing office services, suppliers, facilities and local events.
  • Being our local operations expert, helping our global teams navigate Indian employment practices and coordinating with local partners where needed.
  • Supporting any local requirements on behalf of the London team with our local accountants and advisors"

What You'll Bring To The Team

We're looking for someone who has already done a similar role in a growing technology company.

Ideally, you've been one of the first People or Operations hires or have worked in a small team where you've had a broad remit across People Operations, Talent and Workplace. You're comfortable switching between hiring, improving processes and solving the practical challenges that come with running a growing office.

You have experience with:
  • Running People Operations for an office or business unit, including onboarding, offboarding, employee documentation, benefits and compliance.
  • Hiring for technical roles and partnering with hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Managing workplace operations, including suppliers, office services and creating a positive working environment for employees.
  • Applying Indian employment legislation and supporting local statutory People processes.
  • Supporting operational Finance activities such as invoices, expenses, suppliers and accounting administration.
  • Building and improving processes in a startup or scale-up where you've had broad responsibilities and plenty of ownership.
You are able to communicate clearly, confidently and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing. This role requires excellent communication skills, not simply a strong level of English, as you’ll need to explain information clearly, adapt your style to different audiences and build effective relationships across the business.

If you enjoy taking ownership, are comfortable working independently and like finding practical solutions to everyday problems, we’d love to hear from you!
