Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific where you'll contribute to business growth and strategic partnerships across key markets. As Sales Development Manager, you'll identify opportunities while building strong relationships with customers in sectors including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, semiconductors, and academic research. You'll develop and implement comprehensive market strategies, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and provide solutions that help our customers make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. Position Purpose
• Identify and develop high-impact growth opportunities that require capabilities across multiple Thermo Fisher Scientific divisions.
• Serve as the enterprise business development leader and cross-division orchestrator, connecting customer priorities with Thermo Fisher capabilities to create differentiated One Thermo Fisher value propositions.
• Lead strategic opportunities from early identification through internal alignment, solution development, executive engagement, commercial strategy, and opportunity conversion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Business Development
• Identify and develop high-value growth opportunities across strategic customers, industries, applications, and emerging markets, with emphasis on complex and cross-divisional opportunities.
• Support the development of country 5 years STRAP plan to accelerate sustainable growth.
• Translate customer strategies, investment priorities, technology roadmaps, research programs, and unmet needs into qualified business opportunities and strategic business cases.
• Build and manage a portfolio of strategic opportunities from concept through customer engagement, solution development, commercial alignment, and conversion.
2. Cross-Division/Corporate Opportunity Development
• Proactively identify opportunities that require products, technologies, services, or expertise from multiple Thermo Fisher divisions.
• Bring together division leaders, commercial teams, technical experts, marketing, applications, and service around a common customer opportunity and shared business objective.
• Establish clear roles, ownership, contribution models, and execution plans while resolving gaps, overlaps, and internal barriers.
3. One Thermo Fisher Value Proposition
• Lead the development of integrated customer value propositions that combine Thermo Fisher technologies, workflows, services, expertise, and commercial capabilities.
• Shift customer engagement from individual products toward complete workflows, enterprise solutions, and strategic outcomes, articulating Why Thermo Fisher, Why Together, Why Now, and What Unique Value We Enable.
• Quantify and differentiate customer value through productivity, workflow efficiency, quality, speed, scientific capability, cost optimization, risk reduction, and strategic impact.
4. Cross-Division Engagement & Alignment
• Act as the neutral enterprise orchestrator, creating alignment across divisions around customer priorities, strategic opportunities, competitive positioning, and proposed solutions.
• Facilitate cross-divisional strategy discussions, establish shared success criteria, and address ownership gaps, competing priorities, or execution barriers.
• Ensure Thermo Fisher presents one coordinated customer strategy by connecting Taiwan, regional, and global capabilities where required.
5. Strategic Customer Opportunity Creation
• Engage senior customer stakeholders to understand long-term priorities, investment plans, workflows, strategic programs, and future capability requirements.
• Identify white-space opportunities beyond existing product discussions where Thermo Fisher can expand its strategic relevance and share of customer.
• Convert customer priorities into defined cross-divisional opportunities, multi-year growth roadmaps, and executive engagement plans.
6. Enterprise Solution & Workflow Development
• Map Thermo Fisher capabilities against the customer’s complete workflow, strategic objective, or business challenge to identify opportunities for integrated solutions.
• Partner with technical and commercial teams to combine capabilities across divisions and address gaps through internal capabilities, partnerships, or new business models.
• Develop repeatable enterprise solution frameworks and commercial models that can be scaled across strategic accounts and market segments.
7. Strategic Partnership Development
• Identify strategic partners that strengthen Thermo Fisher’s ability to access markets, complete workflows, develop differentiated solutions, or accelerate opportunity conversion.
• Establish outcome-driven partnerships with customers, research institutions, government organizations, technology providers, and ecosystem stakeholders.
• Link partnerships directly to measurable business outcomes, including market development, capability enhancement, strategic pipeline, and revenue creation.
8. Market & Opportunity Intelligence
• Monitor customer investments, emerging applications, technology trends, industry developments, government initiatives, and competitive activities to identify future growth opportunities.
• Translate market intelligence and early customer signals into specific business-development hypotheses and cross-divisional opportunity maps.
• Provide leadership with actionable recommendations on where Thermo Fisher should engage, invest, partner, or develop new value propositions.
9. Opportunity Governance & Execution
• Establish disciplined governance for major strategic opportunities, including objectives, participating divisions, sponsors, owners, milestones, dependencies, and next actions.
• Conduct regular cross-divisional reviews, track opportunities from creation through commercial conversion, and escalate barriers requiring leadership intervention.
• Capture lessons learned and replicate successful cross-divisional business-development models across customers, segments, and strategic markets.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Business, or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant sales, strategic business development, or commercial experience in life sciences, analytical instrumentation, healthcare, or related industries.
2. Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic business development and growth plans, identifying new opportunities, building qualified pipelines, and delivering measurable revenue growth.
3. Proven ability to lead complex, cross-divisional and cross-functional opportunities, aligning commercial, technical, marketing, service, and leadership stakeholders around shared customer objectives and a One Thermo Fisher value proposition.
4. Strong understanding of customer workflows, applications, scientific technologies, market dynamics, and laboratory operations, with the ability to translate customer strategic priorities into integrated business opportunities.
5. Excellence in establishing and maintaining senior-level customer relationships, including key decision-makers, influencers, strategic partners, and executive stakeholders.
6. Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to develop compelling business cases, opportunity strategies, and differentiated value propositions.
7. Advanced communication, executive presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and gain alignment across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
8. Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and operate effectively within a complex global matrix organization, balancing divisional priorities while driving enterprise-level outcomes.
