Just imagine LEGO® branded apparel, accessories, and lifestyle products inspiring consumers around the world through outstanding partnerships and category innovation. Then make it real.
About the role
As our Head of Softlines, Licensing & Extended Line, you'll shape the future direction of the Softlines portfolio within the LEGO Group's Licensing & Extended Line business. Based in Copenhagen, you'll define the category strategy and roadmap, build a focused and high-quality portfolio, and lead relationships with licensing partners to deliver both brand impact and commercial success. You'll also lead the Softlines team and play a key role in the Licensing & Extended Line Leadership Team, collaborating with colleagues and partners across a global network.
Required Qualifications
- Strong background and proven track record within apparel, ideally with a premium brand.
- Worked on Softlines partnerships (ideally with outbound licensing strategies in a global or multi-market environment).
- Developed Softlines licensing businesses across categories such as apparel, accessories, and fashion products, using market and consumer trend insights to shape category strategies, product assortments, and partner portfolios.
- Strong understanding of how to build a premium brand, with apparel.
- Led licensing partnerships from development through commercial execution and performance management.
- Built business development initiatives that created growth opportunities across categories and channels.
- Managed teams and supported talent development within licensing or related consumer products functions.
- Applied analytical skills to evaluate commercial performance, identify trends, and drive business decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed a master's degree in a business-related field or gained equivalent professional experience.
- Worked across complex matrix organizations with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Built long-term relationships with strategic partners across licensing ecosystems.
- Supported innovation initiatives that expanded product categories or consumer reach.
What you'll build
- A clear Softlines strategy and category roadmap aligned with key stakeholders across the business.
- A focused, high-quality Softlines assortment that strengthens consumer engagement and brand relevance.
- Strong partnerships with licensees that deliver sustainable commercial results.
- Broader market and retailer coverage across priority regions and channels.
- A high-performing global Softlines team with a clear direction and shared purpose.
If you've worked in a role where you've combined licensing, portfolio management, partner leadership, and commercial execution, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is your ability to balance brand priorities, consumer needs, and commercial performance while delivering sustainable growth.
Life on the team
You'll join the Global Licensing & Extended Line organization, which works across the LEGO ecosystem to create meaningful consumer engagement through high-quality branded products and experiences. LEL is globally developing all non-brick physical consumer products for the LEGO Group. The Softlines team helps bring that ambition to life through licensed products that reach consumers across channels, markets, and audiences around the world. We're a global team that values collaboration, curiosity, confidence, and focus. You'll work closely with colleagues and partners across functions, bringing different perspectives together to create the best outcomes for consumers, partners, and the business.
What success looks like
Success in this role means building a clear strategic direction for the Softlines category while strengthening the LEGO brand through outstanding licensed products and partnerships. Over the next 12 to 18 months, you'll help unlock new growth opportunities, evolve the portfolio, and expand the category's reach across markets and retail channels. You'll work closely with licensing partners, creative leadership, product development teams, and senior stakeholders around the world to shape the future of the Softlines business.
