Multi-Modal Technologist

POSITION SUMMARY:   

       

Under the general supervision of the Radiology Administrative Director of Technical Operations and Clinical Supervisor of Breast Imaging, the Multimodality Tech provides skill and initiative to the department mission through interactions with staff, supervisor, clinicians and others as necessary. Primary duties are to work as a multi modality technologist in the Breast Imaging section performing Mammography procedures and exams. Exams and procedures will include diagnostic and screening examinations; mammographic guided breast interventions and bone densitometry.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

• Associates Degree (or equivalent) in Radiologic Technology from an AMA approved school.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

• Massachusetts State licenses in Radiography and Mammography are required.

• Currently certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in (R) and (M).

• Must remain up-to-date on all applicable continuing education credits required for certifications held.

• Current BLS certification.

EXPERIENCE:

• At least 1 year of experience as a registered mammographer required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of principles and procedures in both mammography and the operation and maintenance of Radiologic/Mammography equipment.

• Knowledge of bone density equipment and ability to analyze studies. Extensive knowledge of breast anatomy and pathology.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and co-workers, to train students and staff mammographers.

• Excellent organizational skills. Requires intermediate to advanced computer skills.

Compensation Range:

$47.51- $56.78
